Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1974, I am a self-taught illustrator and surface pattern designer specialized in reviving the intricate charm of classical nature studies. My journey into visual arts began independently, charting a unique learning path driven by curiosity, discipline, and a deep-seated passion for the natural world. Without formal art school training, I meticulously built a professional-grade technical skillset by combining foundational digital media courses with specialized online industry academies:Digital Illustration: I mastered foundational digital editing and compositing through an intensive ******** Photoshop DVD course, subsequently refining vector graphics and scalable pattern creation via the comprehensive Yes I'm a Designer platform. Textile & Surface Design: To transition my illustrations into seamless industry applications, I completed several technical courses at the Oksancia Textile ***.Typography: I learnt from the online school of Every Tuesday to advanced font-making and custom typography training, allowing me to integrate cohesive, bespoke lettering into my historical designs.
